Stockholm Fringe Festival Masks

As we prepare for our Running with Wolves project at Stockholm Fringe Festival we thought it would be a good idea to produce some wolf masks from our own templates to show you how they might look. The templates can be downloaded for free as PDF documents from our project page here.

Layla made two masks; for one (pictured above) she used one of the mask templates as a basis from which she built up a more solid three dimensional mask using masking tape. This has then been painted with gouache and embellished with ribbons. Layla’s second mask (below) was a more simple affair that she decorated with red felt tip pen.

Spike printed a mask onto card (bottom) and then stuck a piece of black linen fabric to the back – the card acts a support ensuring that the mask retains it’s shape. He then cut this out and decorated it with stitches using a variety of cotton threads. If you attempt a similar mask to this then do make sure that you have a good strong needle to pierce the card support at the back of the fabric.
